About Us

Living Word Ministries is a non-denominational Christian congregation who teaches in the context of our biblical, Hebraic roots.  We endeavor to become the fulfillment of Ephesians by becoming a “One New Man” congregation.  We often use the term Yeshua instead of Jesus because that is His Name. The name Jesus did not become popular until approximately 400 years ago with the publication of the King James Version of the Bible. Prior to that time (for more than 1600 years) the name Yeshua was used in the Scriptures and in common language. We also use the personal name of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob which is Yahueh (Yah way). The Scriptures are clear that in the end times this Covenantal Name will be restored and its use is growing worldwide. The relationship between Yahueh and Yeshua becomes clear and fulfills Scripture—“Blessed is He Who comes in the Name of Yahueh.” We are not being legalistic but attempting to restore truth.

Yeshua was a Torah observant Jewish rabbi who went to the synagogue every Saturday.  He taught from the Old Testament (Newer Testament was not written until well after His ascension into heaven), and He observed the feasts as written in Leviticus 23 and when He returns He will rule and reign from Mount Tzion in Jerusalem.  We are in agreement with the Scriptures that long to see the Restoration of all Israel (both Jew and non-Jew) coming together in His land (Ezek. 37:15-28; Ephesians 2:11-22).

We celebrate the Feasts of the LORD as described in Leviticus 23 where the LORD emphasized they are holy convocations, these are “My Feasts” (Lev 23:1). The church, for many reasons, has corporately abandoned these convocations or set times for over 2000 years. However, in this century of restoration, these set times are being restored in congregations throughout the world. Each year thousands of believers in Yeshua from over 100 nations come to Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Succoth or Tabernacles, as is prophesied in Zechariah 14. We celebrate and delight in celebrating the Sabbath (Shabbat). God chose the seventh day to rest. He blessed and sanctified that day and commanded us to honor the Sabbath in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:8). We can worship on any day and every day but we must honor the Sabbath. Yeshua honored and worshiped on the seventh day (Sabbath) and the practice continued under the new covenant (New Testament) in the book of Acts (Acts13:14, 27, and 42). We are not “legalistic” regarding this day, but have found that this “set apart” time with our LORD and our families provides a peace and calm beyond all understanding and allows us an opportunity to strengthen our relationship with the LORD and our families.

Living Word held its first service on December 25, 1988 in Springfield, Virginia. We have been privileged during our twenty three year existence to have been part of many exciting and challenging activities. Ministry leaders have hosted and taught on radio and television for ten years in the Washington, D.C. area. They have participated with the American Christian Trust in missionary trips to Russia, China, Outer Mongolia, South Africa and the Middle East. In addition, they lead teaching tours to Israel and other Middle Eastern nations and served as an official tour host for the International Christian Embassy, Jerusalem, Israel.
